1. Matterhorn

This is the iconic mountain peak of Switzerland. The Matterhorn is one of the highest mountains in the Alps. Borders to Italy, this legendary mountain peaks as high as 4,478 meters.

At the foot of this majestic mountain top is the beautiful village of Zermatt. It is one of the leading international resorts with daily carriage rides, quaint wooden houses, world-class restaurants and hotels. The special thing about this place is that motor vehicles are forbidden to preserve the air quality and the peaceful atmosphere.

In winter, skiers can enjoy sliding down the road of more than 300 km. In the summer, you can swim and play tennis, as well as hiking, cycling, and trekking. Tourists can also ski on the glacier in summer.

2. Jungfraujoch

One of the most popular places in the beautiful Bernese Oberland is the journey to Jungfraujoch, which is known as the Top of Europe, by train. There is an observatory terrace and science observatory at the height of 3,454 meters. 

Europe’s longest glacier known as The Great Aletsch Glacier,  a UNESCO World Heritage, originates from Jungfraujoch.

You can also head to the famous Eiger Trail that starts from the Eiger glacier station to Alpiglen. Other famous trails include the Panorama Road, Gletscherschlucht and Öpfelchüechliwäg, a trail through flower fields, alpine meadows and woodland from Holenstein to Brandegg.

3. Lucerne

Lucerne is a city located in the middle of Switzerland. Imagine a sparkling blue lake surrounded by high mountains, a nearby old town with no cars, and riverside promenades, and fresco style buildings. What we just mentioned is what you can find in Lucerne, the top destination for tourists.

Lucerne is known for its famous concerts. This town attracts many famous soloists, conductors and orchestras to participate in the International Music Festival every year. The Lucerne Cultural and Conference Center is also well-known for being the world’s top concert halls.

4. Oberhofen Castle

Situated on the banks of Lake Thun and surrounded by a 2.5-hectare park, Oberhofen Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in Switzerland. With a long history, new owners of the castle constantly built more rooms, resulting in: Oberhofen Castle is a combination of many architectural styles. The buildings are Bernese Baroque, the facade is romanticism, and new areas are built in the style of Prussia (including book rooms and smoking rooms).

Oberhofen Castle is also a living museum about the life of feudal society from the 16th to 19th centuries.

5. St. Moritz

St. Moritz is one of the to-go destinations for mountain tourism in Switzerland with its crystal clear lakes, glaciers, snowy peaks, and forests. St. Moritz is a luxury resort (also known as a resort town) located in a mountain valley of 1,800 meters above sea level. The town is divided into two parts: St. Moritz Dorf where we can see the St. Moritz lake, and St. Moritz Bad at the bottom of the valley, which is a more affordable resort with great services.

In winter, popular sports are skiing, ice skating, and sledging on the famous 1.2km Cresta Run track. During the summer, tourists enjoy hiking, cycling and other water sports. Ice skating is also available in the summer.

In addition to the breathtaking mountain landscape, St. Moritz is a multicultural place. Romansch, German, Italian, French and English are all widely used, not to mention the languages ​​of other international visitors here.
